Add the following two registry keys after installing the latest Intel GMA drivers in

Hidden:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000
Change
Display1_DownScalingSupported to 1
Or create a new DWORD value with that name, and set it to 1 if it doesnt exist
Do the same in
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0001
And ALSO
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0002

Reboot your Computer. Congratulations 1024x768 (and a higher emulated resolution) are now yours, select them in the normal way.
